Hey everyone, So thursday I will be taking off to Vegas for some really amazing events! I am so thrilled and excited! These two will be the start of many fun parties, expos, boot camps and good times to come! First up, we will be having a FABULOUS recruiting party at the Palms Casino and Resort! Myself, Miss Nevada USA Sarah Chapman and the reigning Miss USA Alyssa Campanella will all be at MOON Nightclub on Sat Oct 22! So Nevada Ladies come out and meet the queens and sign up for Miss Nevada USA 2012! *You must be between the ages of 14 and 26, never married and not have any children, you must be a resident of NV for at least 6 months and a natural born female! Yes that’s right… I know some you men out there are pretty fabulous but you can just come for the party! If competition isn’t for you just come out and support this amazing system! Next we will be doing an AMAZING event at AMP SALON again in the Palms Resort and Casino with world famous stylist Michael Boychuck! Check his twitter out @MichaelBoychuck , He works with the best of the best! Such an Honor to have him as a sponsor! Our reigning Nevada queens will be there, As well as myself and we will get to share our hot tips on how to get the winning look and try some amazing products! We are also going to have the New line from SYRUP swimwear in house to help you ladies pick a winning style! Viva Las Vegas!
Hey hot mamas and papas!
Well as some of you may or may not know I am no longer working with the Miss CA USA org! Even though my time there was well interesting, I was able to help double the numbers, help the company garner 2 new states and Bring CA it’s first Miss USA in over 18 years! Not to shabby if I say so myself!
I wanted to say thank you to all the girls in CA and NY and NH who have wrote me such sweet letters and I am sorry I won’t get the chance to work with you in these states, but you know how I love and believe in pageantry so don’t give up on you’re dreams! The NEW Miss USA 2011 is……
WOW! What a whirlwind of a week! I really don’t even know where to begin….
My partner Keith Lewis and I arrived in Las Vegas after a long road trip with a stop at the Mad Greek of course! For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a complete and utter sh*thole in the middle of the desert that I am compelled to stop at every time I drive to Vegas to get peanut butter milkshakes, after scarring my partner for life we some how arrived at the Bellagio and I could barely contain myself for the the events to come! I would like to add the Bellagio has changed a wee bit since the last time I stayed there 12 years ago and the words bed bugs and bullet holes come to mind, so you might want to re-think your stay there! then again I stayed there with Oscar De La Hoya and the penthouse may have had a better view then my cubbie of a room! I do however recommend their nightclub BANK but that is a WHOLE other blog! All that aside I felt in my heart this year we had a great shot at the title of Miss USA with not only our Miss Ca but Miss NY and Miss NH and NOTHING was gonna get me down! I tried to just keep a open mind and a open heart!
first up! It was the 60th anniversary of Miss USA this year and one of the highlights of my trip was being able to meet all the former Miss USA’s! I was so inspired by each woman, at one point I even cried! to think I was part of such a special sisterhood! You could see why each and every one of them won the crown at one time…It felt so special to stand side by side with this outstanding group of women! not to mention I can only hope when I am in my 70’s I look half as amazing as some of these women My god the beauty! NEXT! I was also able to host the True Beauty Rocks the USA event at the Planet Hollywood resort and Casino which is always a blast as this is when all our TEEN contestants come in and get to spend time with one another, they get to share stories and talk shop and to see the excitiment and fun on their faces is just a blast! I want to thank Maureen Atwell for inviting me to be a part of such a fun event!
Now on to the BIG SHOW! MISS USA! Being a state director I spend my entire year invested in these girls and in this system, I get very attached to these girls in the months of prep leading up to the pageant, they become not only my titleholders but my friends! I was a nervous wreck in the crowd and as a sat amongst pageant royalty and the women I grew up idolizing I was blown away but the support they were showing me, I was truly moved!
I LOVED the new format! I loved our new set of hosts Andy Cohen from Bravo and Guiliana Rancic from E!… both from great Networks that I love and whose audiences I know will love Miss USA! I thought they were modern and hip and so at ease it made the show smooth and fun to watch! Kelly Osbourne and Susie Castillo killed it with their commentary which I was excited to have included back in the telecast!
The videos of historic footage showing the likes of Halle Berry and Bob Hope with past queens was awesome! I was worried about the NEW style of elimination and top 8 to 4 format but as it went on I LOVED it! ( and no not cause my girl was being called) but because it really was a new twist and I love that we are changing! As a state director I am always talking with my partner on how we can keep the traditions of pageantry but also change with the times, for me this show did it!
Miss USA this year had the best rating in 6 years! so Bravo MUO and Donald Trump!
Now on to 3 very special women! LacyJane Folger Miss New Hampshire USA who did such a OUTSTANDING job competing! I am so thankful to have been a part of your journey and I look forward to the rest of the year making it just as fun! Amber Collins Miss New York USA, who I would like to say a BIG congrats on your top 8 placement! The first for NY in many years! you were stunning! I look forward to making these two new states the power houses I know they were meant to be…
and finally, Alyssa Campanella! what can I say kiddo, we did it! More then anything, I am so happy the world will now be able to see what I have always seen in you.. a kind, ambitious, beautiful woman. I can’t thank you enough for trusting in me to help guide you…there isn’t a soul out there who didn’t watch you command and OWN that stage! you rocked SS, you took a risk with me and worked that green monster of a gown like nobody’s business! Total domination! I know with your win Alyssa you will bring a NEW face to pageantry all over the country, the media will finally get to see what this system is about and the woman who aspire to better themselves will be able to relate to you. Your beauty will transcend time…Standing with 36 former Miss USA”s and Universes and welcoming you into the sisterhood was a moment I will treasure forever! now go kick some ass in Brazil!
I also wanted to give shout outs to all my friends who supported us and made this trip one to remember! Bamaman I hope you fixing the teen results as I type! there hasn’t been a back to back Miss USA/TEEN state before and I will hold YOU responsible! ( these are jokes people) All jokes aside, I love all you guys! you make feel really special and you all make this ride worth it and without you all we couldn’t make this happen!
you’d think I’d go on a vacation but I got 3 teens to get ready for the Bahamas, a crowing of a NEW Miss California USA and I’m getting a Visa to Brazil! WICKED AWESOME! blog again soon kittens!
